Heidseick Champagne Tasting With Philippe Andre

NV Heidsieck Brut Reserve $50
Tasting Notes: A deep golden robe. Delicate vivacious and long-lasting bubbles are the result of more than 36 months of ageing in chalk cellars. With 40% of reserve wines the blend offers a complex, voluptuous nose with notes of freshly baked brioche.
2006 Rare Brut $165
Tasting Notes: Aromas and flavors of toasted brioche and grilled nut enrich the yellow plum, nectarine and grated ginger notes of this rich and creamy Champagne. Finely woven and beautifully integrated, with a firm backbone of mouthwatering acidity providing precise balance for the lush range of flavor.
2008 Rare Brut $175
Tasting Notes: 95DE - A lively first nose of candied lemon, guava, also a hint of lime. With aeration, notes of almonds and almond flowers come to the fore. On the palate, there is a nervy tension that energises its fine, crystalline texture. This is an upright and elegant Champagne whose long, airy finish is mouthwatering. After some time in the glass, it evolves towards notes of smoke, flint and vanilla. A sumptuous Champagne.
2008 Rare Rose $500
Tasting Notes: 97WS - A vibrant Champagne, ballet-slipper pink in color, featuring intense flavors of nectarine, ripe raspberry, grilled nut, espresso and graphite, with a touch of dried sage, all riding the finely detailed mousse. Like a ballerina, this offers power in a graceful form. A beautiful skein of spice unravels on the lasting finish.
2018 Animo Cabernet Sauvignon $90
Tasting Notes: The 2018 Animo Cabernet Sauvignon offers a harmonious aromatic balance of rich dark fruit, stems of roses, and earthy forest floor.
2016 ‘M’ Red Blend by Michael Mondavi $225
Tasting Notes: Aromas of blueberries, blackberries, blackcurrants and black licorice. Lavender and sage, too. Medium to full body and firm, really fine tannins that are well crafted and pretty, giving a refined and thorough finish. Dialed-in. A blend of cabernet sauvignon, cabernet franc and merlot and a dash of petit verdot and malbec.
2016 Quinta do Crasto Reserve $45
Tasting Notes: #49 Wine Enthusiast Top 100 of 2020 - The nose is very expressive, revealing the unique characteristics of its old vines: complex aromas of fresh gum cistus and berry fruit well integrated with light cocoa hints.
2016 Quinta do Crasto Touriga Franca $85
Tasting Notes: One of a series of single-varietal wines from this producer it is a balanced, rich, black-fruit dominated, while also succulent wine. Generous tannins have been softened by the wood aging into a luxurious texture. Drink the wine now.
