Dom Perignon and Bollinger Crush it!

Some treats from Friday’s festivities. You all know I like the old DP. These 1990 Dons were everything that you want them to be with rich caramelized Fuji apple, dollops of honey, and the perfect amount of toasted brioche.

I was super impressed with the 1989 Bollinger Grand Anne! It’s not every day you get a bottle of bubbles to stand up with aged Dom and hold its ground. A little more advanced than the DP but with plenary of life still in the bottle. Notes of peach, toast points, caramel, and a fading limestone minterality. Still complex with a lingering finish.

The 02 Piper Heidsieck deserves a home table mention as we drank almost 6 of them Friday... this is the singularly best bottle of bubbles that you can buy for the money.
