Wilson Daniels Portfolio Wine Tasting

2018 Schramsberg Blanc de Noir   $35

Tasting Notes: Schramsberg pioneered the Blanc de Noirs style in the United States, producing the first such commercial American sparkler in 1967. Aromas of peach, apple, nectarine and candied lemon with notes of white cranberry, tangerine, guava, jasmine, and honey suckle. The palate opens with flavors of juicy white peach, pear, clementine, and lime sherbet, with delicate touches of ginger, sugar cookie and vanilla custard. Its bright acidity leads to a long, clean finish.

2020 Peyrassol Rose La Croix   $15

Tasting Notes: 50% Grenache, 40% Cinsault, 10% Syrah. Commanderie de Peyrassol has a long history of producing Provençal wines. Beautiful pale pink in color, with distinct bluish hues. This expressive blend opens immediately with notes of small red fruits carried on a savory undertone of garrigue. There is a refreshing touch of greenness on the palate which gives this fresh, lively wine its truly thirst-quenching character. An accessible blend in the true style of Provençal rosé: delicate with flavors of white fruit and a hint of minerality.

2018 Arista Pinot Noir   $65

Tasting Notes: With a beautiful dark, translucent, garnet color, the wine invites the taster in. One is greeted by a nose of cool blue fruits, Herbes de Provence, black olive, spiced candy, and damp forest floor. A modest 20% new French oak frames a core of crunchy red fruit on the palate. The wine possesses great length with tangy acidity, and finishes with an herbal note and grippy tannins that marry pleasantly with the fruit and help carry the long finish.

2018 Routestock Cabernet   $25

Tasting Notes: Comprised of 91% Cab, 3% Merlot, 2% Cab Franc, 2% Merlot, & 1% Petite Verdot from four top-quality vineyards throughout the region (Yountville, St. Helena, Mount Veeder, and Rutherford). 21 months in 98% French oak. A wonderfully medium-dark hue emits a complex aroma of black plum, soy sauce, bright fruit and oak. This translates into flavors that mirror the aromas with a beautiful balance of fruit, oak, alcohol, acidity and tannin creating a very smooth, bright and savory wine of great length and complexity.

2018 Torres Celeste Crianza   $25

Tasting Notes: At 895 metres altitude you can almost touch the stars and shape the clouds. A star in Ribera del Duero, Celeste, 100% Tempranillo, is an opulent wine brimming with fruit, body and colour. Intense blackberry color with intense garnet highlights. Aromas of black fruit, wild blackberries, blueberries and delicate toasted notes of coffee with nicely oak-aged undertones. Persistent and full bodied with very fine, juicy, velvety tannins.
