About the Wine

Michael Pozzan creates wines that capture the best of the varietals he blends, vintage after vintage. His long-time experience with growers from premier Napa and Sonoma allows him to seek out and hand-select exceptional fruit each growing season in addition to his own Calistoga vineyard. Crafting wines of high quality and exceptional value — wines you’ll want to share with those you love, and with those who love wine.

1847 marks the year in which the town of Napa City was launched into its journey to the force it is today, from its humble beginnings with commercial wine production beginning in the late 1850s. This homage to Napa is a stunning start to capturing true Napa Valley in a bottle.

Tasting Notes:
The 1847 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is dark and brooding from the glass, with compelling aromas of black cherry, creme de cassis, and a hint of saddle leather. The mouth is dense and alluring with flavors of blackberry, black currant, and espresso, with a touch of cocoa powder. Broad tannins provide structure and promise that this wine will only get better with patient aging.
