About the Wine

With 50 years of passion in making wine and over 120000 bottles produced per year, the Grosjean Family has brought back the love of winemaking to an ancient varietal and region,  creating a gorgeous landscape of vineyards among the centuries old forests of the Valle d'Aosta.

Up until a few decades ago Rovettaz Vineyard was entirely covered by a dense durmast forest. With a lot of work, effort and dedication they were able to bring back the dignity and charm of this ancient site of vinification, which perfectly adapts to the organic cultivation thanks to the strong Föhn winds that lower the risk of fungal deseases. Currently, with 5,5 hectares, Rovettaz is their best vineyard as well as the biggest producer in Valle d’Aosta.

With it's complex and diverse geological landscape, along the middle slopes of the Valle d'Aosta we find the best white wine from the appelation, Petite Arvine. This lesser known grape varietal is making a comeback with some exceptionally balanced and deliciously ageable wine.

Tasting Notes:

The outcome of the steep slopes and South facing situation of the vineyards as well as the prevailing wind paterns is a wine featuring bright straw-yellow colour, intense bouquet, floral notes and citrus sensations, expecially of pink grapefruit; its good sapidity and well balanced acid structure ensure long-term ageing. Drink now, or lay them down for a few years to see their evolution.
