About the Wine

Heidi Peterson Barrett is an American winemaker and entrepreneur who has been responsible for some of California's most notable cult wines. Her career has included stints at Screaming Eagle, Dalla Valle Vineyards, Paradigm Winery, Grace Family Vineyards, Amuse Bouche, Lamborn Family, Showket Vineyards, Revana Family Vineyards, Vineyard 29 and Fantesca. Barrett is a consultant for Elizabeth Spencer and has her own wine label, La Sirena.

Studio Series is a new Cab-Syrah winemaker blend that will feature a different painting by artist/winemaker Heidi Barrett on the label each vintage, showing off her creative work both inside and outside of the bottle.

La Sirena produces about 2000 cases total of 6 different wines each year. All the wines are small production lots made with great care and the highest quality in mind. Based in winemaker Heidi Barrett’s hometown of Calistoga, these wines are near and dear to her heart – literally. Heidi’s home vineyards provide much of the Cab and Syrah she uses in her wines. Heidi loves having her own brand – creating, experimenting, and being free to explore and express herself through her work, while also giving her fans the delicious wines they have come to expect from her.

Blend: 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 36% Syrah, 2% Petite Sirah, 2% Cab Franc

TASTING NOTES:

Deep ruby in color. The aromas show expressive fruit characteristics of Cab and Syrah especially – berry, cherry and plum with nuances of French oak, blueberry, garden herbs, and tea leaves. The layered fruit character of the aromas carries through in the mouth coating, vibrant, and lively flavors. Very streamlined silky tannins and mouthfeel across the palate. Tasty and inviting - This elegant work of winemaking artistry will delight with its richness and complexity for many years to come!
