Bruliam Wines is a small boutique winery located in the heart of Sonoma County, California. The winery was founded in 2008 by Kerith Overstreet, a former emergency room physician, and her husband Brian. Bruliam Wines is named after their three children: Bruno, Lily, and Amelia.
The estate is situated in the Russian River Valley AVA and produces a range of small-lot, vineyard-designate wines using grapes sourced from some of the top vineyards in Sonoma and Napa Counties. Bruliam Wines focuses on producing single-varietal wines that reflect the unique terroir of each vineyard.
The winery is known for its exceptional Zinfandels, which are sourced from vineyards in the Rockpile AVA, a remote and rugged appellation known for producing intense and concentrated wines. Bruliam Wines also produces Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Syrah, and Cabernet Sauvignon.
The Rockpile AVA is known for its rugged terrain, with steep slopes and rocky soils that are well-drained, producing wines with intense flavors and complexity. The climate is characterized by hot days and cool nights, allowing grapes to ripen slowly and develop rich flavors and aromas.
TASTING NOTES:
From the first drops, the intensity of hue is hypnotic. Then, dark black and blue fruits, heady exotic spice, and cigar box waft from the glass. This Zin is hedonistic and plush, with a backbone of solid acid that keeps her lively and food friendly. A rich and comforting Zin.
