About the Wine

The goal for the Bootjack Red was to treat each varietal separately using techniques that preserve the best characteristics of each.

Niner Wine Estates is a winery located in Paso Robles, California, United States. It is known for producing high-quality wines . Their wide range of all estate vineyards are recognized for the diverse terroir and suitability for multi-varietal grape cultivation.

The estate was founded by Richard Niner in 2001, and the winery is dedicated to sustainable and organic farming practices since the begining. They emphasize environmental responsibility and aim to create wines that reflect the unique characteristics of their vineyards.

Each varietal that goes into the Bootjack Red Blend is vinified seperately, and differently as well. This ensures that Richard can hone the characteristics of each, and bring together a magnificent blend accentuating the finest properties of each varietal in a symphony of flavors.

When composing the blend, Niner used Cabernet Sauvignon for structure, Malbec for a juicy component and Cabernet Franc for fine tannin and length. All other varietals in the blend are accent pieces, each adding spice and different fruit characteristics.

   Blend: 32% Cabernet Sauvignon, 23% Malbec, 20% Cabernet Franc, 8% Grenache, 7% Carmenere, 6% Merlot, 2% Zinfandel, 1% Barbera, 1% Syrah

Tasting Notes:

Dark blueberry aromas meet with hints of lavender and wet sand on the restrained nose of this blend of 32% Cabernet Sauvignon, 23% Malbec, 20% Cabernet Franc and six other grapes. It's thick on the palate, with berry compote, French toast spice and a confectionery caramel flavor.
