About the Wine

When you have some of the finest terrior, prime micro-climate conditions and an extraordinarily experienced family of winemakers and staff, you get the perfect combination to deliver consistantly stellar wines vintage after vintage.

The Argentiera Estate is situated on the coast of Tuscany about 100km southwest of Florence. Located in the prestigious DOC of Bolgheri rightfully synonymous with the celebration "Super Tuscan",  Argentiera is the estate closest to the sea and also highest in altitude, making the land especially well-suited to growing incredible red grapes. The estate is considered among the most beautiful in Italy with its spectacular view of the islands of the Tuscan archipelago, with neighbors known of producing some of the most prestigious and high-end Tuscany wines you can find. Named after the "Argento" silver mines, a land ripe with mineral hot springs and known for its healing waters, the property stretches across 80 hectares of vines, all in the Bolgheri DOC. The soil composition varies throughout the vineyards, from sandy to calcareous and stony, offering complexity to the Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Syrah. The wineries and cellars are made of recycled or traditional materials such as terracotta and baked roofing tiles and the vineyards are surrounded by Mediterranean vegetation with a countryside flush with maritime pines and olive tree groves.

Tasting Notes:
Everything about this wine shouts "Super Tuscan"! A blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc. This is a beautiful wine that is climbing fast on a podium of the best in Bolgheri. The wine opens to dark and sultry fruit with blackberry and dried currant. Those fruit tones are followed by spice, roasted tree bark and a delicate hint potting soil. Working up into a powerfull, but  balanced tannin structure to hold it all together extremely well.
