2015 Frisson Rutherford Cabernet Napa Valley 750ml

($120.00 Incl. tax)

From a miniscule production, there are only 200 cases made of this gorgeous, forward, but classically proportioned Napa Cabernet. Sleek, compact, and elegant, the dark fruits and classic 'Rutherford' dust make for a dangerously complex Cabernet.
About the Wine

Tasting Notes

Aromas of dark berries, black cherry, cassis, leather, oak, and violet. There is some serious flavor concentration to this wine without any over the top over extraction or hint of manipulation - it's quite pure and fresh. Blackberry, blueberry and sweet breads emerge with some air, as well as a gorgeous display of minerality that leads to a healthy dose of complexity for such a young wine. Firm, but velvety tannins that never overpower the senses combine with an extraordinarily long finish. Young yet approachable, it's one of those that constantly begs for another sip.

A drive along the Silverado Trail through Rutherford is a journey through Napa Valley winemaking history.  Over the years, touched by the hands of the Napa’s historical greats such as Georges de Latour and Andre Tchelistcheff, this valley floor vineyard has produced a myriad of famed vintages of stellar cabernets.  Today the vineyard boasts new clones and advanced systems of cultivation and trellising that enhance both quality and yields from the gravelly loam soils. It naturally benefits from its unique combination of higher temperatures and cooling marine influences, yielding a distinctive earthiness, or “dust”, and bright red fruit notes with intriguing complexity.  Frisson lays claim to rows in the heart of this appellation, well placed atop the famed Rutherford Bench.
